Being deaf
I tried going an hour with earplugs, which was much more of a challenge, than I expected.
Besides being boring and tiring, it was very interesting. My sight improved and I was much more attentive and observant than usual. I was suddenly able to concentrate optimally, even though there wasn’t much to do – still, it was like I regarded much more and my thoughts got ”deeper” in some way, because they were the only sounds, I was able to hear.

Even though ”being deaf” in the bus seemed like the most obvious scenario, the silence kind of killed me. Mostly because I have gotten used to listen to music in the bus, which basically fills in all possible silence. But also because there was nothing else to do than just sitting and watching the cars pass. It was a weird experience, but it taught me, that sounds are important parts of the everyday life, and “hearing” is often taken for granted.
